Is this machine washable?Yes. I have washed it twice in the machine. It is a well made item and I feel it has saved my crazy little dog from harm.

Does this work for cats?Sure. I use it for my 3 dogs that weigh about 4-7 pounds and it is a bit big on them. I hang it from ceiling to trim their nails and it works out great

Will any of these lift harnesses work for a big dog with one front leg amputated ?Yes. My dog is 20lbs. The shoulder sling is great. I have used it daily. It's so durable it will hold a dog missing a leg. Hope this helps.
