If you are social-distancing due to the COVID-19 situation for a period of time, or have to work from home, we’ve got some ideas to make the time at home with your pets as happy and stree-free as possible.

Hope you can find moments of comfort with your pet!

1. GIVE YOUR PET PLENTY OF TOYS

As you do not always have time to play with your little furry baby, pet toys are one of the best entertainments for him. Make sure that you have a variety of toys at home for your pet. You can buy pet toys online or at local stores, from chewing balls to pet cube tent. Even cheap and simple things like a mini pillow can do a great job.

Interactive toys are excellent for sharpening your pet's mind while also rewarding him. These toys usually involve hidden treats in an object. It requires some skills to get to the food, so your pet needs to figure out how the toy works to get to the goodies.

2. PLAY INTERACTIVE GAMES WITH YOUR PETS

Interactive games are excellent to strengthen the relationship between you and your pet. If you own a cat, you can play with him with an interactive cat wand or similar cat toys. Cats and smart, you can even play hide-and-seek with him! If you own a dog, you only need a little bit of open space to play the game. You can try indoor fetch with your dog. Fetch isn’t only an outdoor game. You can still give your dog a little exercise. Indoor fetch works best in a long hallway or on stairs. You can also play a game of tug-of war indoors. This activity can provide some exercise to both you and your dog, especially if you both really get into it. But before the game, make sure to clear away fragile or dangerous items first.

3. PROVIDE PET-ONLY FURNITURE

It is a completely natural instince for pets to scratch, climb or bite. As a responsible and considerate pet owner, you should provide your pet with a place to do his scratching or climbing work. Otherwise, you may have to deal with the scratches on your nice wallpaper and your furniture.

There are various pet furniture available in the market, which will possibly help on avoiding the de-claw procedure. If you are a cat owner, you probably need some scratching posts for your cat to keep your furniture intact. If you own a dog, you can get your dog a comfortable bed to lay on, and a soft blanket or mat to bite or chew.

4. MAKE A PET "TV"

For many pets – especially for cats, observing wildlife is almost as much fun as catching and killing it. If you observe, you will find that your kitty goes to the window every time he/she hears a dog barking or a birdsong outside. Windows make the best TV to pets.

You can provide your pets with viewpoints from which they can easily observe the outside world. Install a hanging bird feeder outside and windowsill perches inside. And make sure your screens are secure. You definitely don't want your pet to fall or jump out.

5. DO SOME BASIC GROOMING

Grooming is one of a dog or cat’s basic needs. It’s also an important part of dog/cat ownership. Trim your pet’s nails, clean his ears, shave his paws, hygiene areas and perform a proper shower. You can ease your pet into it and offer plenty of rewards, which helps to make grooming a positive experience to your pet. When done in a gentle manner, grooming can be a soothing and enjoyable bonding experience for you and your pet.

6. MAKE TIME FOR YOUR PET

Every day when you are back home from work, you will always see your pet greeting you at the door, meowing or running around you. Your pet looks forward to your return home. It is no doubt that human companionship leads to a healthy and happy life. To be a responsible pet owner, you should make time for your pet no matter how busy you are. Try to make time for at least one play session with him everyday.

7. INSTALL AN INDOOR PET DOOR

Generally pet owners install a pet door so that their pets can get in and out of the house conveniently for some outdoor activities. Actually you can install an indoor pet door. 8. GIVE YOUR PET SOME SPACE

Generally pets like dogs and cats need more than one room to roam around.

If your pets have access to your whole home, or at least a good part of it, then they are able to fulfill their natural urges to play, chase and hide. They will be more comfortable and happy to stay indoor.

9. ADOPT ANOTHER PET

If you are usually busy at work and don’t have many time to play with your pet, bringing home another pet is an excellent idea. Your pet will have a new furry friend in the house to play with.

Having more than one pet also prevents boredom. They keep chasing and playing together all day, which also provides necessary exercise and helps your pets stay fir.
